Paraná begins annual vehicle licensing period

The annual vehicle licensing period in Paraná begins this Friday, running through November 27 based on license plate endings.

The Associação Paranaense de Inspeção Veicular (APOIA) warns that regularizing a vehicle requires more than just paying IPVA, fines, and licensing fees. Owners who have modified original vehicle characteristics—such as fuel systems (including GNV conversion), suspension, axles, or bodywork—must ensure these changes are technically and administratively regularized.

Depending on the modification, owners may need authorization from transit authorities, a vehicle safety inspection, and the issuance of a Certificado de Segurança Veicular (CSV) to ensure the vehicle remains safe for circulation.
