Paraná's Biopark leads region to record 53 medals at Queijo Brasil

The Biopark innovation ecosystem and its Fine Cheese Project helped producers in western Paraná win a historic 53 medals at the 9th edition of the Queijo Brasil competition, the country's premier artisanal cheese award. Fifteen of the nineteen Biopark‑developed technologies were recognized, with the Origin, Granatoo and Tomme Negro D’Oeste cheeses receiving gold medals. The success underscores the effectiveness of Biopark’s technology‑transfer model that links scientific research, technical assistance and rural production, adding value to the regional dairy chain.

Meanwhile, Queijaria Meu Propósito from Marechal Cândido Rondon secured 11 medals, including three golds, at the same event. Owner Rosane Wirzius Borosky, who entered cheese making after a personal prayer during financial hardship, saw the Super Gold award for her Queijo da Motta propel the small family operation from local market stalls to regional supermarket contracts, illustrating how the award can transform rural agribusiness.
