Paraná coffee producers have until September 30 to register for quality contest

Coffee producers in Paraná, Brazil, have until September 30 to register for the 24th Café Qualidade Paraná Contest and the 2nd Business Round. These initiatives are promoted by the Paraná Coffee Sector Chamber, which includes Sistema FAEP, the Paraná Rural Development Institute (IDR-Paraná), and the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab).

The contest aims to recognize the potential of local specialty coffees. Participants, including owners, sharecroppers, and lessees with proven coffee activities in the state, can enter in two categories: Natural Coffee and Peeled or Depulped Cherry Coffee. Entries are free and require a 60-kilogram lot of 100% Arabica coffee.

The 2nd Business Round focuses on market connection. Selected producers will participate in cupping sessions with potential buyers, followed by direct negotiations regarding price, volume, and delivery terms. Registration for the business round is conducted through the Sistema FAEP website and is limited to 30 producers. The winners will be announced on November 17 at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba.
