Paraná expands Ecoaliados recycling program to five new schools
The Municipality of Paraná has expanded its ‘Ecoaliados’ program by adding five new educational institutions: William Morris, Martín Lutero, Paraná High School, Galileo Galilei, and Siglo 21. This brings the total number of participating institutions to 22.
Under the initiative, schools collect recyclable plastic materials, which are then collected weekly by the Subsecretariat of the Environment. These materials are processed by the company Quanta Reciclaje and transformed into urban furniture for use in plazas, recreational spaces, and community areas.
To encourage participation, the municipality maintains a record for each institution, allowing them to track their collected materials and eventually exchange them for the furniture they require. The program aims to promote environmental education and a circular economy by turning waste into community resources.
