Rafael Greca becomes vice‑governor candidate with Sandro Alex in Paraná

Former Curitiba mayor Rafael Greca withdrew his own bid for the Paraná governorship and accepted the role of vice‑governor on the ticket headed by federal deputy Sandro Alex. The partnership, announced on 31 July 2026 in Curitiba, unites the PSD, MDB, Republicanos, União Brasil‑Progressistas and the PSDB‑Cidadania federation, and is backed by Governor Ratinho Junior.

The alliance will be formalised at the MDB state convention scheduled for 2 August in Curitiba, where Greca’s candidacy as vice‑governor will be confirmed. The coalition also discussed its Senate slate, confirming Alexandre Curi (Republicanos) as a candidate and negotiating the placement of other names such as Álvaro Dias and Cristina Graeml. The joint ticket aims to continue the current state government's policies and present a unified front in the 2026 Paraná elections.
