Paraná hosts free fruit training and cheese innovation events

The municipality of Quatro Pontes, through its Secretariat of Economic Development, opened registrations for the 13th Technological Fruit Jornada on 6 August. The free, day‑long program at the IdR‑Paraná research station in Santa Helena will feature practical field stations on crops such as grapes, guava, berries, passion fruit, acerola, pitaya, pineapple and coffee, plus guidance on rural credit, with municipal transport provided for participants.

In Dois Vizinhos, the Inova Queijo 2026 conference was held on 30 July at Hotel Lago Dourado. The event brought together cheese producers, family agro‑industries, researchers, and public and private sector representatives to strengthen the artisanal cheese chain of Southwest Paraná. Highlights included a keynote by Professor Antônio Fernandes of the Federal University of Viçosa, awards for dairies that placed in the national Queijo Brasil competition, and technical sessions on milk quality, cheese science and market strategies.

Both gatherings aim to transfer updated technical knowledge, foster innovation and improve the competitiveness of Paraná’s fruit and cheese sectors.
