Paraná launches mobile women's health unit and expands elderly day center

A mobile health unit called Carreta Saúde da Mulher will operate in Cambira, Paraná from July 14 to 25, offering free mammograms, breast, transvaginal and thyroid ultrasounds, Pap smears and tele‑consultations. The service, part of the state‑wide Paraná Rosa program, aims to reach women in Cambira and neighboring municipalities. Mayor Ana Lúcia and Health Secretary Bruno César highlighted its role in early disease detection and preventive care.

In Mercedes, Paraná, the Centre for Elderly Day Care will be enlarged with a R$472 million investment. The works will expand the dining hall, kitchen, activity rooms and dormitory, replace the roof and carry out structural repairs. The centre, which serves more than 40 seniors weekly, will receive R$300 million from a state agreement and R$172 million from the municipal budget. Mayor Laerton Weber stressed the project’s importance for regional elderly care, with the construction tender slated for July 29.
