Paraná lawmakers and Senate hopefuls address coastal and western regional concerns

State deputy Goura (PDT) spent four days in the coastal municipalities of Antonina, Morretes, Matinhos and Guaratuba meeting community leaders, university groups and NGOs. The agenda covered artisanal fishing, traditional communities, waste management, environmental preservation, culture, education, mobility and infrastructure. Residents highlighted problems such as irregular waste disposal, unsafe roads, deteriorating bridges and an aging water‑supply system that serves roughly 3,500 people. Goura also discussed agro‑ecological transitions, composting, community kitchens and fire‑prevention measures, and signed the National Agroecology Articulation Letter.

Senate pre‑candidates Filipe Barros (PL) and Alexandre Curi (Republicanos) visited the Expo Rondon in Marechal Cândido Rondon, speaking to attendees about the Senate’s role in bringing Paraná’s demands to Brasília. Barros warned that power outages have caused multi‑million‑real losses for producers, cited inadequate infrastructure at the Santa Helena port, and mentioned national issues such as the STF and the Federal Pact. Curi focused on defending Paraná’s interests, calling for tax‑reform regulation, support for the New Ferroeste railway linking the state’s western region to the Port of Paranaguá, and greater federal resource allocation.
