Paraná police arrest convicted child rapists in São Mateus do Sul and Apucarana
Police forces in Brazil's Paraná state executed court orders to detain two men convicted of sexual abuse of minors. In São Mateus do Sul, civil police captured a 42‑year‑old who was serving a 16‑year sentence for the 2018 rape of a 9‑year‑old child; he was seized at his workplace without incident. In Apucarana, a military police unit arrested a 70‑year‑old sentenced to 22 years and two months for raping his own granddaughter and two other victims linked to the same church. He was taken from his residence in the Núcleo Habitacional Adriano Correia and placed in the local public jail. Both operations were presented as part of ongoing efforts to enforce judicial decisions and combat violent crime in the region.
