Brazil police seize stolen vehicles, arrest suspects in multiple states
Police operations across Brazil resulted in numerous arrests and the recovery of stolen property. In São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo, a man with more than 25 prior police reports was caught stealing a chainsaw and taken into custody. In Cassilândia, a 19‑year‑old driver who rammed officers during a traffic blitz was arrested after a pursuit.
The Brigada Militar recovered a stolen motorcycle in Capão da Canoa and a stolen automobile in Osório, while a separate operation in Conchal (SP) seized a stolen motorcycle with a tampered engine number and detained two suspects. In Minas Gerais, the Polícia Rodoviária Federal captured five members of a cargo‑theft ring, recovered a load of stolen tires and seized a cloned truck on the Fernão Dias highway.
A joint investigation in Campinas seized more than 2,100 automotive parts, including airbags and seat‑belts, and arrested a dealer for selling illegal components and for vehicle‑identification fraud. Additional raids shut down a cloning workshop in Messias and recovered a stolen truck in Sumaré. Other incidents included a drunk driver who fled on the wrong side of the road and collided with a roundabout, as well as multiple interceptions of cloned or stolen vehicles in Mato Grosso and on the MG‑461 highway.
These coordinated actions highlight a nationwide effort to combat vehicle theft, illegal parts trade, and related violent offenses.
