Paraná prosecutors archive school incident complaint
The Public Prosecutor's Office has archived a complaint filed by the authorities of the Club Atlético Estudiantes (CAE) Secondary School in Paraná following an incident involving second-year adolescents on September 1.
The decision to archive the case was based on the age of the individuals involved. Under the recently enacted Juvenile Criminal Regime (Law No. 27.801), criminal liability begins at age 14. Because the adolescents involved did not meet this age threshold, no criminal proceedings could be initiated.
This legal shift follows the repeal of the previous regime that had been in place since 1980. In Entre Ríos, Prosecutor Jorge García has approved a new protocol for provincial prosecutors, developed by Deputy Prosecutor Cecilia Goyeneche, to align with these legislative changes which focus on education and social reintegration.
