Paraná school tree planting and Guayaquil forest fair boost environmental education

In Paraná, Argentina, the municipal environmental program planted native trees at Escuela Soler as part of the "Plantamos Futuro" urban tree initiative. Species such as aromito, bauhinia forficata and the endangered ruprechtia laxiflora were installed, with engineers emphasizing their role in flood mitigation and urban cooling. School director Sergio Segura highlighted the educational impact for students.

In Guayaquil, Ecuador, more than 100 students attended the "Ponte Verde" environmental fair at the Cerro Paraíso protected forest. Organized by the city’s Direction of Environment, the event featured guided walks, workshops and demonstrations of native species like guasmo, pechiche and palo santo. Participants and officials praised the program for fostering conservation awareness among young people.
