Paraná towns Tibagi and Pato Branco send athletes to Cascavel
Ten athletes from Tibagi represented the municipality in the athletics portion of the 38th Paraná Youth Games held in Cascavel between July 16 and 19. The competition, a key state‑wide youth event, gave many of the 17‑year‑old participants their first experience at the under‑19 level. Municipal sports secretary Maxsuelly S. Lipke said the event “reinforces the work with base categories and represents an important step in the athletes’ formation.”
A larger delegation from Pato Branco – 79 athletes and 11 physical‑education professionals – took part in the 6th Paraná Combate, Brazil’s biggest multi‑sport martial‑arts tournament, staged in Cascavel from July 22 to 26. Competitors entered ten disciplines, including taekwondo (17 athletes), wrestling, karate, kickboxing, jiu‑jitsu, judo and boxing, across youth and adult categories. The participation aims to broaden experience and strengthen the municipality’s combat‑sport programs.
