Paraná water pipe repair restores supply; Mexico road reopens after drainage fix
In Paraná, Argentina, emergency crews finished repairing a major water‑distribution pipe at the López Jordán and Acceso Norte intersection on Wednesday evening. The pipe, which carries water from the Echeverría treatment plant to the Parque del Lago and Lola Mora distribution centers, had a significant fissure that disrupted service to eastern neighborhoods. After hydraulic testing and the activation of a complementary 630 mm pipe, water pressure is being gradually restored and reservoir levels are expected to recover in the coming hours.
In Mexico, the municipal water and sanitation board (JMAS) reopened traffic at the crossing of Parque de los Recuerdos and Tomás Fernández after completing a nine‑meter road‑rehabilitation project. The work followed a sinkhole caused by the deterioration of a drainage pipe; 12 meters of PVC pipe were installed and an asphalt surface was laid and compacted with a vibro‑compactor. The drainage network is now functional and normal vehicle flow has resumed.
