Parasport Games Romania to debut in Bucharest

The inaugural Parasport Games Romania will take place in Bucharest this September, marking the first official celebration of National Paralympic Sport Day, established by Law no. 72/2026. The event is organized by the Romanian National Paralympic Committee and aims to foster a tradition of celebrating Paralympic performance and inclusion.

The competition will feature over 300 athletes competing across ten different disciplines, including para table tennis, para swimming, para athletics, para powerlifting, wheelchair basketball 3x3, para archery, adaptive judo, wheelchair tennis, para climbing, and para canoe. The games will be held across seven sports facilities in the capital, with free public access provided for all competitions.

Carol Eduard Novak, President of the Romanian National Paralympic Committee, stated that the project is intended to change perceptions and build a significant future for Paralympic sports in the country. The event is expected to bring together approximately 500 participants, including athletes, coaches, officials, and delegates.
