Parauapebas marks 38th city anniversary and media outlet's 19th year with festivals

Parauapebas, the leading iron‑ore exporter in Brazil's Pará state, celebrated its 38th anniversary of municipal emancipation on May 9‑10. The festivities took place at Lago Nova Carajás and featured performances by Forró Boys, Manu Batidão, Filho do Piseiro and Léo Magalhães, alongside local DJs and cultural activities organized by the municipal Secretary of Culture.

A month later, on June 27, the local news portal Portal Pebinha de Açúcar commemorated its 19th anniversary. The event was part of the Sampebas Festival at Partage Shopping and highlighted the popular pagode‑sertanejo group Kamisa 10, with additional acts such as Mesa 18, Nuance Livre and Fernando BG. CEO Bariloche Silva highlighted the portal’s two‑decade presence in the region’s media landscape. Tickets were sold in multiple price tiers, and organizers expected a large turnout.

Both celebrations underscored Parauapebas’s cultural vibrancy and its role as a regional hub for music and public events.
