Pardubice electric bike shop fire involves battery explosions

A fire broke out at an electric bike repair shop in Pardubice on Thursday evening, shortly before 10:00 PM. Professional firefighters from the Pardubice station responded to the scene and successfully evacuated four workers who were inside the building at the time of the incident.

The firefighting operation was complicated by the presence of hazardous materials. Several electric bike batteries exploded during the intervention, forcing firefighters to use protective cover and proceed with extreme caution. Additionally, crews located two pressurized cylinders that had reached temperatures of approximately 40 °C; these were cooled and safely removed from the premises.

Firefighters managed to localize the fire by 10:30 PM and continued extinguishing hidden hotspots by dismantling ceilings and structures to prevent reignition. The fire was fully extinguished around 12:30 AM. The cause of the fire and the total extent of the damages are currently under investigation.
