Electric bike battery fires and explosions

In Cumberland, Canada, an investigation determined that a lithium battery exploded while charging overnight at Dodge City Cycles. The resulting blaze damaged the shop's interior and spread to the roof and a nearby hostel. One firefighter received treatment for minor injuries.

In Pardubice, Czech Republic, a fire broke out at an electric bike repair shop shortly before 10:00 PM. Firefighters evacuated four workers and faced complications when several electric bike batteries exploded during the intervention. Crews also had to manage two pressurized cylinders that had reached temperatures of approximately 40 °C. The fire was extinguished after crews dismantled ceilings to address hotspots.
