Pardubice opens 19 free sports venues year‑round and launches new affordable housing lottery

The city of Pardubice is offering free, year‑round access to 19 sports arenas, including multifunctional fields, athletics tracks, tennis courts, beach‑volleyball courts and football pitches. Facilities are open at least six hours daily during the summer, from 9 a.m., and provide QR‑coded information on opening times and equipment rentals. Deputy mayor Jakub Rychtecký highlighted the project’s aim to serve children, youth, families and seniors.

At the same time, Pardubice is continuing its "Startovací bydlení" programme for young adults up to 30 years old. In the autumn the city will make 13 additional apartments available, bringing the yearly total to 25. Rent is set at 80 CZK per square metre for the first three years, rising to 100 CZK thereafter. Applications are accepted on 30 September and 1 October 2026, with a public lottery on 7 October and tenancy beginning 1 January 2027. The apartments are located in Polabiny and the city centre and range from 28 to 68 m².
