Parents protest school conditions in Colombia and Dominican Republic

In Campoalegre, Colombia, parents blocked access to the Institución Educativa Delia Ferro Falla to demand the appointment of a third‑grade teacher who has been absent for over a month, saying the delay harms students' learning. They called on the school rector and the Ministry of Education for a swift resolution.

In Azua, Dominican Republic, dozens of parents announced they will not send their children to Liceo Gastón Fernando Deligne, citing dilapidated facilities, faulty electrical wiring, roof leaks, unsafe surroundings and inadequate school meals. They are pressuring the Ministry of Education to intervene before the next school year begins.

Both protests highlight growing parental frustration with inadequate educational resources and infrastructure in the region, urging authorities to address teacher shortages and school safety concerns.
