Paricatuba launches new tourism route and museum in Iranduba
The village of Paricatuba, located in the municipality of Iranduba within the Manaus metropolitan region, is launching a new tourism route and cultural preservation initiative. The project aims to promote community-based tourism (TBC) to increase local visibility and generate income for residents.
Key components of the launch include the inauguration of a Museum Room (Sala-Museu) situated within the village's historical ruins, which will house ancient artifacts and the “Cotidiano” exhibition. The initiative also features new signage throughout the ruins to identify historical sites such as the old church, morgue, and preventorium, while honoring local residents.
Additionally, the project includes the release of a dedicated website, a documentary produced by the Viva Paricatuba project, and a comic book titled “Paricatuba, a Vila das Mil Histórias” to help preserve the community's history and identity.
