Paricatuba launches new tourist route in Amazonas

A new tourist route has been launched in the village of Paricatuba, located in Iranduba, Amazonas, near Manaus. The initiative aims to promote Community-Based Tourism (TBC) by highlighting local history and the ruins of a century-old building.

As part of the ‘Viva Paricatuba’ project implemented by Impact Hub Manaus, the development includes several new features: a Museum Room housed within the ruins, new signage, and a large open-air mural titled ‘Muro Parikás’ created by graffiti artist Waldemir Nascimento. The project also introduced a dedicated website, a documentary, and a comic book titled ‘Paricatuba, a Vila das Mil Histórias’.

Visitors can explore the village with local guides to see historical sites such as the old church, a preventorium, and an ancient house. The Museum Room displays artifacts and historical objects, while a photography exhibition by Bruno Mello showcases daily life in the community. These efforts are designed to preserve local memory and stimulate the regional economy.
