Loïk Le Priol sentenced to 26 years for murder of Federico Aramburú

The Paris Assize Court has sentenced Loïk Le Priol to 26 years in prison for the 2022 murder of former Argentine rugby international Federico Martín Aramburú. Le Priol, a 32-year-old former member of the French special forces, was found responsible for the fatal shots fired in the Saint-Germain district of Paris.

Romain Bouvier, 35, was sentenced to 19 years for attempted murder. The court noted that while the defendants were motivated by a fascination with weapons and violence, they did not establish premeditation. Both men were identified as former members of the far-right student group GUD.

Other defendants received lesser sentences: Lyson Rochemir was sentenced to three years with 30 months suspended, and Antony Sorrentino received a three-year suspended sentence for obstructing justice. The trial concluded after three weeks of testimony, following an incident in March 2022 that began with a dispute at a local brasserie.
