Paris hosts free outdoor cinema, Seine swims and board‑game festival this summer
Paris is offering a series of free summer events across the city. Outdoor cinema screenings return to La Villette from 22 July to 16 August, featuring films such as *Princess Mononoke* and *Into the Wild*, with audiences invited to bring blankets and enjoy the night on the grass. Additional free screenings are planned at the Butte‑du‑Chapeau‑Rouge park later in August.
The city also reinstated free swimming in the Seine at three sites – Bercy, Grenelle and Bras‑Marie – until 30 August, and provides paddle‑boarding, canoeing and kayaking at Paris Plages on the Villette basin.
Alongside these activities, the “Paris est ludique” board‑game festival showcased new games, highlighting three favorites: *Athlètes de compète*, a chaotic twist on the classic goose game; *Bella Vista*, a 3‑D city‑building and bidding game by Bruno Cathala; and a selection of other titles now available for purchase.
