Paris Marathon to change organizers and structure in 2027
The Paris Marathon is undergoing a major organizational transition. Starting in 2027, the event will be managed by Cadence—a group comprising Havas Events, Keneo, and Avena Event—replacing the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), which has organized the race since 1998.
The Council of Paris has awarded Cadence the rights to organize the marathon from 2027 through 2030. This change will bring significant modifications to the event model, including new methods for bib allocation, pricing structures, and environmental policies.
Key changes for participants include a shift from a first-come, first-served registration system to a lottery-based system. Additionally, while the race will introduce social pricing tiers, some costs are expected to rise; for instance, the race shirt, which was previously included in the registration fee, will now be a paid option.
