Paris Prosecutor updates on Epstein victims and school abuse probe

Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau has announced significant developments in two major investigations. In the Jeffrey Epstein human trafficking probe, authorities have identified 26 victims in France. Of these, 13 victims had not previously appeared in any legal files, including those related to Jean-Louis Brunel or Gérald Marie. Investigators are also pursuing new leads on potential recruiters following the death of modeling scout Daniel Siad in July.

Separately, French authorities have launched investigations into Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire and his predecessor Anne Hidalgo. The probe follows complaints from families alleging that municipal officials failed to act against sexual violence involving extracurricular activity monitors in schools. Three formal complaints have been received regarding the management of these after-school programs.
