Park City Police K9 Bruno returns home after surgery

Park City Police K9 Bruno has returned home to recover following successful surgery. The police dog was seriously injured on Tuesday after jumping from a freeway overpass during an investigation into a suspicious item at the interchange of Interstate 80 and U.S. 40.

Bruno sustained a fractured jaw and two broken legs during the incident. The suspicious item was later identified as an e-bike battery. Following the injury, Bruno was transported via Life Flight to MedVet Animal Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he underwent surgery on Wednesday.

The Park City Police Department released a statement noting that Bruno is ‘in good spirits’ and ‘officially on the mend.’ The department expressed gratitude to the community and various responding agencies, including the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol, and Park City Fire District, for their support during the incident.
