Parma celebrates 50 years of nursery schools and opens new facility

The city of Parma is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its nursery school system with a series of events dedicated to early childhood education. The celebrations included a symbolic parade of children from 28 local educational services, traveling from Piazzale della Pace to Piazza Garibaldi, accompanied by musical and storytelling performances.

In conjunction with these celebrations, the city has inaugurated the Papaveri Blu nursery in the Eurosia district. This new facility, which accommodates 80 children aged 0 to 3, represents a total investment of 3.8 million euros. Funding for the project was provided through the European Union’s Next Generation EU (Pnrr) resources, state funds, and municipal administration funds. Mayor Michele Guerra noted that the new structure is a tangible result of investments aimed at strengthening social services and community futures.
