Parookaville festival opens in Weeze with 225,000 fans

The Parookaville music festival began on 17 July 2026 at the former airfield in Weeze, North Rhine‑Westphalia, Germany. The three‑day event can accommodate up to 225,000 visitors and features roughly 300 artists across multiple stages.

Headliners include international electronic acts such as Armin van Buuren, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki and Charlotte de Witte, as well as German party‑pop performers DJ Ötzi and Vicky Leandros. A new 360‑degree stage with a large video cube will be the visual centerpiece. In addition to music, the site offers a 700 m² pool, a tattoo and piercing booth, a “Jail” area, fireworks, drone light shows and a wedding chapel.

The festival, described as Germany’s largest electronic‑music event, is organized like a small city with its own town hall and post office. It was first held in 2015 with 40,000 guests and has grown steadily, remaining sold out each year. North Rhine‑Westphalia’s minister‑president Hendrik Wüst visited the opening day.
