Paros Festival Returns to the Environmental & Cultural Park July‑September 2026
The Environmental & Cultural Park on Paros, Greece, will host its annual “Festival in the Park” from July to September 2026. The programme features a diverse lineup of music—ranging from experimental jazz and improvisation to contemporary Greek song, opera, world‑music and Mediterranean folk—as well as theatre productions, cinema screenings and family‑friendly shows. Highlights include opening performances by Martha Frintzela and the Kubara Project, a collaboration between Markus Stockhausen and Vasilis Rakopoulos titled “Music of the Stars,” and the tenth‑anniversary “Opera Under the Stars.”
The festival also continues its traditional celebration of the Ai‑Giannis Dete feast on 28 August and showcases a photography exhibition by Robert A. McCabe, “Memories of the Aegean,” documenting the islands from the 1950s to the late 1970s. Ongoing activities encompass guided walks, permanent museum displays, and visits to historic sites such as the Ai‑Giannis Dete monastery and the local karagi.
Organisers emphasise the park’s role as a year‑round cultural hub that blends nature, history and community involvement, offering an alternative to mass‑tourism‑focused island experiences.
