Parti Wawasan Negara to contest Negeri Sembilan election, urges split from Perikatan Nasional

The newly formed Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan), formerly Parti Cinta Malaysia, confirmed it will field candidates in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election on 1 August. Party president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said discussions with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition are underway to determine how many seats Wawasan will contest, and the party has received official approval for its name change and new "New National Consensus" platform.

Separately, political commentators and insiders have called on PAS and Wawasan to leave PN and form a separate alliance, arguing that a split would create a healthier, clearer competition among PN, Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan and other groups in the upcoming state poll. They contend that PN’s image has been weakened by internal disagreements and that a realignment would benefit voters.
