Partners Group restructures funds amid liquidity pressure
Partners Group is implementing structural changes to its investment vehicles in response to increased redemption requests and liquidity management challenges. The company is restructuring its Global Value SICAV evergreen vehicle into an umbrella fund with two separate sub-portfolios designed to distinguish between long-term value growth and distributions.
These adjustments come as investor redemption requests have occasionally exceeded the regulatory quarterly limit of 5 percent of net asset value. This pressure highlights the difficulty of managing liquidity in private markets where assets are often illiquid and harder to sell quickly. Additionally, the company is winding down its London-based Private Equity Limited vehicle following a high-majority investor vote to enable repayments, with distributions expected to occur semi-annually starting March 31, 2027.
In a separate move, the company has approved an additional 10 million euros for share buybacks, to be completed by January 31, 2027, alongside approximately 4.8 million euros in previously allocated funds.
