SPP confirmed as national minority list for Serbian elections

The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) has officially confirmed the participation of the Party of Justice and Reconciliation (SPP) in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. Led by Usama Zukorlić, the party will run as a national minority list under the name ‘Usama Zukorlić – Movement for Unification’.

The SPP submitted a list containing between 180 and 250 candidates, noting that over 50% of the candidates are women. The party provided approximately 6,000 to 7,000 valid signatures to meet the requirements for minority status. Zukorlić stated that the party’s primary goals include the development of Sandžak, attracting investments, and creating opportunities for youth to remain in the region.

In related electoral developments, the RIK also confirmed the participation of the Russian Party as a national minority list. Additionally, the commission has been managing administrative tasks, including the appointment and dismissal of members in various municipal electoral commissions across Serbia and Kosovo and Metohija. Meanwhile, the Roma Party has filed an objection regarding the status of the ‘Rasim Ljajic – Ljudski’ list, questioning whether its candidates should be classified as a minority list.
