Pas-de-Calais authorities sanction drivers after massive car rally
Authorities in the Pas-de-Calais region have applied the ‘Loi Ripost’ for the first time following a massive nocturnal car rally involving approximately 400 vehicles and 2,000 people. The gathering, which moved from Bully-les-Mines to Liévin, prompted a significant police response involving eleven crews.
As a result of the enforcement action, three drivers face a three-month license suspension, which increases to six months for repeat offenders. A fourth driver, a foreign national, has been banned from driving within France. Local authorities are currently reviewing video surveillance footage to identify further participants for potential sanctions.
