PAS urges Bersatu to quit PN over logo dispute ahead of Johor, Negeri Sembilan elections

PAS vice‑president Amar Abdullah said Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s intention to contest the upcoming state polls under the Perikatan Nasional (PN) banner was premature and technically flawed. He emphasized that the authority to use the PN logo must be signed by the coalition’s chairman, not the party president, and that the move had not been discussed within the coalition.

Amar warned that if Bersatu wishes to run against PAS it must leave PN. The dispute comes as PAS has already cut ties with Bersatu and precedes the Johor state election on 11 July and the Negeri Sembilan election on 1 August, with similar issues raised for the Melaka poll. The disagreement highlights internal tensions within the PN coalition ahead of the elections.
