Pasaman Barat authorities distribute masks to combat forest fire smoke

The Pasaman Barat Police and Regent H. Yulianto distributed hundreds of free medical masks to students and staff at SMAN 1 Pasaman on Monday morning. The initiative aims to protect the school community from the health risks of haze caused by forest and land fires (Karhutla), which have degraded local air quality.

Police Chief AKBP Agung Tribawanto led the distribution, which included students, teachers, canteen staff, and school security. The measure is intended to prevent Acute Respiratory Infections (ISPA) caused by exposure to microscopic smoke particles. During the event, officials also provided education to students regarding the dangers of smoke inhalation and the importance of maintaining health during poor air quality conditions.
