PASOK accelerates electoral preparations and energy policy opposition

PASOK is accelerating its electoral preparations across Greece, including the formation of candidate lists through an electronic platform. While names are being discussed for various regions and the national list—such as spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas—certain areas like Kefalonia and Ithaca currently lack identified candidates.

Simultaneously, the party is intensifying its political opposition regarding the rising cost of living. PASOK has criticized the government for delays in implementing promised measures to address high fuel and heating oil prices. The party has proposed a four-point plan to mitigate energy costs, which includes reducing the Special Consumption Tax (EFK) on fuels, implementing a VAT refund mechanism for consumers, conducting systematic audits on profit margins throughout the supply chain, and establishing a permanent tax on the excess profits of oligopolies.
