PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis outlines party priorities and visits Crete
PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis has issued a call to party members to remain vigilant against political attacks and attempts to distort the party's historical role. During a parliamentary group meeting, which included new members Evangelos Apostolakis and Alexandros Avlonitis, Androulakis criticized the current government's handling of housing and education, alleging a disconnect from social realities.
The party outlined several legislative proposals, including a special account for islands with fewer than 3,100 inhabitants to ensure lower VAT and reinvest tourism revenue into local infrastructure. Additionally, PASOK is proposing fuel subsidies for fishermen through the METSAF program and addressing private debt through installment regulations.
In a separate regional visit, Androulakis and party officials visited the Lasithi Plateau in Crete to assess damage caused by recent severe weather. The delegation, including Evangelos Apostolakis and Manolis Chnaris, met with local producers and officials to discuss the need for immediate compensation, infrastructure repairs, and long-term protection measures for the area's economy.
