Arthur Layne Lundeen arrested after violent American Airlines flight incident
Arthur Layne Lundeen, a 67-year-old Arizona realtor, was arrested after a violent outburst on American Airlines Flight 618, traveling from Dallas to Newark. The incident, which occurred on September 3, forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Reports indicate that Lundeen engaged in a lengthy conversation with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn regarding religion before allegedly becoming violent. Witnesses claim Lundeen assaulted the Rabbi, grabbed him by the throat, and broke his laptop. The disruption escalated as Lundeen reportedly directed racial slurs and anti-gay remarks toward a flight attendant and other passengers, and allegedly bit a crew member.
To maintain safety, crew members and fellow passengers used zip ties and duct tape to restrain Lundeen to his seat. Following the landing, Maryland Transportation Police arrested Lundeen, who faces state charges of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. Lundeen has since been terminated from his employment following the viral footage of the incident.
