Pasuruan permanent schools ready for July 2026 opening

Construction of two permanent Sekolah Rakyat in Pasuruan, East Java, is in its final phase. The site in Purworejo, Kota Pasuruan has reached 80.9% completion, while the Lajuk site in Kabupaten Pasuruan is at 82.3%, according to PT Nindya Karya engineers.

Both campuses feature classrooms, teachers' rooms, dormitories, canteens, a multipurpose hall, a mosque and accessibility upgrades such as ramps and guiding blocks. About 1,408 workers are operating up to 16 hours a day to meet the target.

The schools aim to begin operations on 14 July 2026, with an open‑house event scheduled for 11 July. The new facilities will accommodate roughly 240 students, combining existing junior high pupils with new enrolments. Ministry of Social Affairs officials expressed confidence that the transition from temporary to permanent schools will proceed smoothly.
