A traffic accident in Denpasar, Bali, occurred when a driver, after smelling a foul odor, swerved and crashed into a chicken‑shop stall, seriously burning two employees, Lena KS (26) and I Ketut Sugi JA (30). The driver, Eko DAS (34), was detained for questioning.
In Pasuruan, East Java, police captured a husband‑wife pair, identified as S (34) and SU (37), suspected of a series of violent motorbike robberies. Their modus operandi involved ambushing victims on isolated roads, brandishing a celurit and forcing victims to surrender motorcycles and valuables, including an assault on an eight‑month‑pregnant woman who fell into a ditch.
Authorities in Mojokerto arrested two men, Abdul Rosid Wijaya (49) and Misrianto (53), who posed as dukun offering a ritual to double money. Victims reported losses of up to Rp22 million after the scammers exchanged cash with paper sheets during a ritual at a mosque courtyard.
A separate case in Pasuruan involved two wanted motor‑theft suspects (initials AA and MG) who were apprehended after a chase ended in a collision that killed the victim, DNS (34), when the stolen motorcycle’s pursuers collided with the victim’s vehicle and a passing Grand Max.
