Patagonia regional updates: New train tickets and mobile library launch
In Argentina, Tren Patagónico has opened ticket sales for travel during November and December on the route connecting Viedma to Bariloche. The service covers over 800 kilometers through the Rionegrina steppe, offering Pullman class, sleeper cabins, and vehicle transport options. The train includes amenities such as a dining car and a cinema car for weekend travelers.
In Chile, a new 4x4 mobile library has begun operating in the Aysén Region to provide book access to isolated rural communities. The vehicle, which cost over 170 million pesos including book renewals, is equipped with heating, a kitchen, a bathroom, and universal access ramps. It serves locations such as Balmaceda and Cerro Castillo, continuing a 30-year tradition of mobile cultural services in the region.
