Path of Exile 2 launches Forbidden Rites event
Path of Exile 2 is launching a new event and mini-league titled ‘Forbidden Rites’ to bridge the gap before its full 1.0 version release in December. While not a massive expansion, the update introduces several gameplay mechanics and adjustments.
Key features include the integration of the Ritual mechanic into the core gameplay, where players can encounter Ritual altars during the campaign to earn currency and equipment. In the endgame, players can find Sacred Blooms that add the Viridian Wildwood area to maps, offering increased monster strength and higher quality rewards.
Other updates include a significant overhaul of the Trial of Chaos, allowing players to exit safely between rooms, and modifications to the boss fight with Uxmal. The update also features faster Atlas progression, new Abyssal Ravines, a new type of Tablets, and eight unique league challenges.
Currently, Path of Exile 2 operates on a buy-to-play model, but it is scheduled to transition to a Free-to-Play model following the 1.0 launch this December.
