Patlabor EZY File 3 reveals trailer and 2027 release date

The final installment of the Patlabor EZY trilogy, titled Patlabor EZY File 3, is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on March 5, 2027. A new trailer and promotional imagery have been released, revealing details about the concluding narrative arc, “Omocha no Kuni” (Land of Toys).

The story is set in 2030s Japan, a period where autonomous robots are increasingly replacing human-piloted Labors. The plot follows Section 2 as they investigate a series of unsettling events in Tokyo, including crop circles in Setagaya, malfunctioning traffic lights in Shibuya, and mysterious countdowns appearing on electronic displays across the metropolitan area.

New voice cast members include Kaori Nazuka as Kaoru Mitarai and Taku Yashiro as Takuya Niiro. The production features director Yutaka Izubuchi, writer Kazunori Ito, and character designer/animation director Takamitsu Sato. Kenji Kawai returns to compose the musical score.
