Patras hosts 5th Night Half Marathon ‘Fanis Tsimngatos’

The city of Patras is hosting the 5th Night Half Marathon ‘Fanis Tsimngatos’ on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event has seen record participation with approximately 3,200 runners. Organized by the Municipality of Patras in collaboration with SEGAS and the Athletic Club of Patras ‘Kouros’, the race honors the memory of the legendary local marathon runner Fanis Tsimngatos.

The athletic program includes three different distances: a 5,000-meter race for participants born in 2008 or earlier, a 21,097-meter night half marathon, and a 1,000-meter race for primary school students and individuals with disabilities. The route begins and ends at Georgiou Square, passing through central streets and the coastal zone.

Due to the event, extensive traffic restrictions and parking prohibitions are in effect throughout Patras. The Achaia Police Directorate has announced road closures and public transport modifications, with the most significant restrictions occurring between 16:00 and 21:30 to ensure athlete safety.
