Greek police dismantle cannabis rings in Exarcheia and Patras

Greek authorities have conducted two separate major narcotics operations resulting in multiple arrests across different regions.

In the first operation, five Turkish nationals were arrested for operating a criminal organization involved in cannabis cultivation and trafficking intended for the Exarcheia area. Police uprooted 126 cannabis plants from a forested area in Messenia and seized approximately 8.7 kilograms of raw cannabis, 784 grams of processed cannabis, and various cultivation tools. The estimated illegal profit from this operation exceeded 200,000 euros.

In a second operation in Patras, two men were arrested following the interception of a package at Athens International Airport. The package, which originated from France, contained approximately 2.49 kilograms of cannabis. One suspect was apprehended while attempting to collect the package from a courier branch, while the second suspect allegedly resisted arrest by assaulting officers. Police also seized small amounts of cocaine and cannabis, along with electronic scales and packaging materials during searches of their residences.
