Patria completes assembly of first F135 engine for Finnish F-35A

Patria Group has successfully completed the assembly of the first F135 engine intended for the Finnish Air Force’s F-35A fleet. The milestone took place on September 3, 2026, at Patria’s new facility in Linnavuori, Finland.

As a strategic partner to the Finnish Defense Forces, Patria is responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and support of these engines. This follows an agreement signed between Patria and Pratt & Whitney in February 2026. The assembly operations at the Linnavuori site are scheduled to continue through 2030. Furthermore, Patria will provide maintenance services for the entire lifecycle of the Finnish F-35A fleet.

The project is expected to directly employ approximately 50 people at Patria between 2025 and 2030. The first F-35A fighter jets are slated to arrive in Rovaniemi in the autumn of 2026.
