Patriarch Bartholomew condemns Russian missile strike on Kyiv Lavra

The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew denounced the Russian missile attack on the historic Kyiv Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage site, describing it as a barbaric act against a sacred Christian monument. He expressed deep sorrow, condemned the violence, and voiced solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

Bartholomew contacted Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and all Ukraine, as well as President Volodymyr Zelensky, to convey the Patriarchate’s support for the victims, their families and the wounded, and to urge a response to the assault on religious and cultural heritage.
