Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria visits Jordan for pilgrimage

Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria is conducting a peaceful visit to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, which includes a pilgrimage to Jordan. Accompanied by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, the Bulgarian delegation was received in Jordan by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the chief advisor to King Abdullah II for religious and cultural affairs.

During the visit, the two Patriarchs participated in a Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Resurrection for the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The pilgrimage included visits to several significant religious sites, such as the cave where Saint John the Baptist lived and practiced asceticism, the Hill of the Prophet Elijah, and the site of the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River.

In addition to visiting these historical locations, the leaders prayed for the blessing of Orthodox Christians in Bulgaria and worldwide. They also visited the Church of Saint John the Baptist to pray for the late Prince Kardam Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
