Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria Holy Land pilgrimage
Overview
Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria is conducting a pilgrimage to the Jerusalem Patriarchate and surrounding holy sites. The visit, initiated following an invitation from Patriarch Theophilos III, began with a delegation visiting Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
In Jerusalem, the delegation visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and in Bethlehem, Patriarch Daniel attended ceremonies at the Basilica of the Nativity and the Monastery of Saint Sava the Sanctified. During these travels, the Patriarch emphasized that “love serves as the essential Christian testimony” in a world divided by conflict.
The pilgrimage extended to Jordan, where the Bulgarian delegation was received by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad. Accompanied by Patriarch Theophilos III, the leaders participated in a Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Resurrection for the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and visited several religious sites, including the site of the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River.
